Today, I’m CASEing a cute item made by Beth Hooper.
Have you heard of CASEing? It means “Copy and Steal Everything”. And, that’s what I did with the this beautiful stationary holder she gave me several years ago. (Beth got her idea from this blog) Too, the Snail Mail Suite was perfect for this project.
And, it’s so unique that I reproduced it using the SU! Snail Mail Suite. This adorable suite can be found in the SU! Mini Jan-June catalog (or while supplies last) and my online store. Currently, the suite will be available on April 5th.
Recipe-
First, I started with a base of Bermuda Bay cardstock. And, I scored and cut it as shown below:
And, I scored the base before cutting the edge. Also, I cut two layers (1 1/2 x 2 inches ) of Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored them at 1 1/2 and 2 inches. Then, I adhered them to the to lower portion. (as shown in the picture)
Decorating the Snail Mail Suite Stationary Holder-
Afterwards, I folded the base and adhered it together using the smallest piece of the flap. Next, I had fun decorating the cards.
And, I used the items found in the Snail Mail Suite to decorate the SU! Note Cards & Envelopes. (These cute cards measure 5 x 3 1/2 inches and fit in the holder perfectly.) Too, I used the Snail Dies to cut images from the Snail Mail DSP. Also, I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp images and sentiments onto Basic White cardstock. Then, I colored the images with the Stampin’ Blend Combo Packs-Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight. Again, I used the dies to cut out the stamped images. Next, I used several different punches/die sets to cut out images and sentiments-Double Oval Punch, Layering Ovals/Circles Dies and Stitched Shapes Dies. Afterwards, I embellished the cards with Red Rhinestones and Blushing Bride Twine (found in the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack).
Finishing the outside-
Next, I adhered a strip of Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon around the closed Folder. Then, I added a layer of the Snail Mail Suite DSP. And, I cut out a snail image from the DSP using the coordinating dies. Afterwards, I matted it with Bermuda Bay cardstock and added it to the card. After stamping a sentiment, I used the Double Oval Punch to cut it out. Too, I punched out a mat from Bermuda Bay cardstock. Finally, I added Wink of Stella and Red Rhinestones to the card front.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the Snail Mail Suite. And, thanks to Beth Hooper for sharing her project with me.
