The SU! Playful Pets Suite-
I love a good challenge and the SU! Playful Pets Suite was perfect for them. Too, the suite contains a stamp set, coordinating dies, DSP, Trim and Trinkets. Also, the suite can be found in the SU! 2020-21 Annual Catalog and my online store. And, the DSP contains several of my favorite colors-Cinnamon Cider, Basic Black, Real Red, Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Suede, Basic White. (You can see me using some of these colors here, here, here and here.)
So, I’d like to get some feedback from you! For every response, I’ll add your name to the basket. Then, next Sunday, March 28th at 6 PM (EST), I’ll draw 2 names-a cat and dog person and they’ll receive a card (made with the Playful Pets Suite) from me. Therefore, leave a comment about how you found my site and which do you prefer-cat or dog.
As you may have noticed, I used the same sketch on each of these cards. All I did was change the DSP on each card. To begin, I made a card base with Real Red cardstock. Then, I added a layer of DSP from the Playful Pets Suite. (The DSP contains papers specific for each animal-dog or cat) Next, I matted a coordinating piece of DSP with Real Red cardstock and placed it aside.
Then, I used Tuxedo Black ink and stamped a sentiment from the suite onto Basic White cardstock. Afterwards, I used the Layering Circles dies to cut out the sentiment. Too, I used the same circle dies with Real Red cardstock to make a mat for the sentiment. Thus, I adhered these two layers together and punched (non-SU! item) a small circle above the sentiment. Next, I wrapped twine/ribbon around the large matted layer, added a trinket/sentiment tag and tied a bow to complete the layer. Thus, this layer was adhered to the card.
Afterwards, I matted a strip of coordinating DSP with Real Red cardstock and adhered to the card. And, above the strip, I added three embellishments. (Red Rhinestones or Matted Black Dots)
Next, I used the Layering Circles Dies and cut a circle from the red striped piece of DSP. Then, I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut a mat from Real Red cardstock. Thus, I adhered these two layers together and onto the card.
Then, I used the dies found in the Playful Pets Suite to cut a dog from the DSP. Afterwards, I adhered him to the layered circle. Next, I used my Paper Snips to fussy-cut one of the cat images. Thus, I adhered the cat to the other layered circle. And, I added highlights to the animals with the Wink of Stella pen.
Finishing up cards made with the SU! Playful Pets Suite-
Afterwards, I used Tuxedo Black ink and stamped a sentiment from the suite onto Basic White cardstock. Then, I used Paper Snips and coordinating dies to cut three dogs and cats from the DSP. Then, I adhered them below the stamped sentiment. Finally, I adhered this layer to the inside of the card.
So, I hope you enjoyed seeing my birthday cards made with the Playful Pets Suite. Please don’t forget to leave comments, so your name can be entered into the drawing for one of my cards.
