I’m using the SU! new Art In Bloom Bundle to make a “thinking of you” card for the As You See It Challenge (#250).
And, it’s a Fill in the Blank Challenge to this question: My favorite first flower of spring is _____? I’d have to say Gardenias. It’s one of the first flowers planted in our yard. And, they look innocent and smell wonderful! So, I used the Art in Bloom Bundle for this challenge as it resembles a Gardenia. Too, the set can be found in the current SU! Annual catalog and my online store. Plus, the Art in Bloom Bundle contains a stamp set, coordinating dies and a hybrid folder.
To begin, I made a card base from Pool Party cardstock. Then, I added a layer of Pattern Party DSP to it. (Hostess Product)
Second, I used the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut a layer from Linen Specialty Paper. And, to make a scalloped piece longer than the die, I only cut three sides and started at one short end of the die. Then, I moved the die down and cut three sides again, but started at the other short end. Eventually, you’ll get all four sides cut by alternating the die.
Third, I used the embossing folder from the Art in Bloom Bundle with a layer of Pool Party cardstock. Next, I cut the layer and placed on top of my scalloped piece. Afterwards, I adhered this to the card front.
Fourth, I stamped a sentiment with Pool Party ink onto Basic White cardstock. Then, I used the Scalloped Contours dies to cut it out. (I really like these dies as can be seen here and here.) Thus, I added the layer to the card front.
Finally, I added three Elegant Faceted Gems randomly to the front of the card.
Completing the inside of the card made with the Art in Bloom Bundle-
Again, I used Pool Party ink and stamped a sentiment and floral images onto a Basic White cardstock layer. Afterwards, I adhered the layer to the inside of the card.
And, I hope you enjoyed seeing the Art in Bloom Bundle. It can be used for multiple occasions and is a “keeper”.
